My farewell

Well, this is my last post written in Iceland, even though I will blog it in Germany due to server-problems over here… DAMN!

I will write in English to please the ones who don´t understand German but are mentioned here.

My three and a half month in Iceland went so fast I hardly can believe that I have to leave tomorrow.

As some of you already know I spent my last 2 weeks at the Hriingbraut again, where Jónas (Chief of Surgery) invited me to come to Corpus Christi, Texas someday. And be sure I will. And to Virginia and Tasmania and ICELAND AGAIN, of course!

The pic shows my Reykjavík-bunch at my farewell party shortly before leaving for party on downtown. Damn good Rock´n´Roll at Bar11 – thank you for that night!!!

But my people home need to know the Who-is-Who from left to right:

Annika and Vero (PJ-Students from Berlin), Peter (Architect and gossip reporter), Helge (Architect and there when needed), Maik (Weatherman and Surferboy), Caitlin (Thanksgiving-Queen), I, Katha (roomie and Geologist), Amanda (Tasmanian devil), Mattis (roomie and the only one who speaks proper Icelandic – Chapeau).

As you can imagine I got very emotional on my farewell, so that I was not able to say some private words to everone there. Therefore I would like to give some statements here:

Annika, Vero: thanks for the lovely idea with the fortune cookies. I wish you some great last days in RVK and good luck for the exam next year!

Amanda: Member of the Mr. Darcy-addicts. Loved watching P&P with you. Be sure I will visit you in Tasmania some day! Have fun in Africa.

Mattis: Rock on like in Bar11. Like you that way! See you in Munich.

Peter: Thank you for the dinner tonight. Please don´t stop sending me the gossip of RVK, love your style of writing. Ciao e un bacio!

Maik: All the best for you and Caitlin! Hope to see you next may…Big hug to you!

Caitlin: Another member of the Mr. D.-addicts. I am already missing your laughter. Thank you for the compass – I will find my way (back)! HELL YEAH!

Katha: also Mr. D-addict. Loved to laugh my ass off with you on silly things! Take care, Rotzi II and let´s meet for skiing in march!

Helge: What shall I say? Had not expected finding a friend like you… Kisses.

I am sitting here with tears in my eyes writing these lines and I know I will come back.

As you know, in 11 days I will be off for another adventure with a person none of my RVK-bunch knows, unfortunatelly. But I hope you get to know her some day. Even though it sounds I am in deep grief, I asure you, that I have never been so eager seeing you, Lauschi. So many things happened, I guess we must talk at least a week without sleeping to get updated ;-)

I missed you so much sometimes! Count the days, even better than a christmas calendar! Besote!
I won´t forget these days, but my bags are packed and I´m ready to go. Miss you all already. Take care everyone and keep in touch.
